You seem to have several very insightful cartoons on the site. I haven't seen them anywhere else.
Is it possible for you to arrange for wider distribution. Maybe email?
I also like the hopeful comment you have about countering LTTE propaganda, because truth can only be suppressed only so long.
"Truth is general vindication against slander". Yes indeed.
The LTTE is supporters and apologists to their credit have practically overwhelmed the opinions about Sri Lanka.
All their invented claims have flooded the channels, so neutral people are left wondering about where the truth is, and that works to the LTTE's advantage.
I also see that there are no comments to your post. Did you try advertising a little bit about your blog.
I know there are sites which aggregate Sri Lankan related sites, so why don't you try reaching them.
Man, your cartoons are hilarious. Pleaase put your full blogsite name (not just Sandeshaya in Sinhala) on the carttoon itself and send it out to everyone.
Thanks for both your kind posts. The cartoons are done specifically for this blog, although anyone is free to use them. I haven't sent the images on e-mails as many people do not like getting attachments, specially if they are @ work. So I send them an update e-mail every time I have something new on the blog. You can download the image and send it around if you wish. In fact the "Tiger by the Tail" cartoon was picked up by Mawbima.lk site in Sri Lanka and I have sent the others to some mainstream Canadian publications hoping to get published... So far no news.
Your idea of having the blog name in English along with the sinhala signature is actually a great idea. Thanks and I will do so tonight.
I started this blog very reacently and still getting the hang of it. Please let me know any groups that I can send this to, as I welcome more comments and participation. The more people read it and show to others, the better we can spread the truth. Also on the bottom right hand corner there is a Followers tool, which if you sign up with your e-mail, will automatically track the site's updates... Once again Thanks for your support! We need it now more that ever!
Man, it took your entire country's armed forces three decades to corner an a bunch of determined people (terrorists, perhaps, but very determined ones at that) who had no outside help, who were very small in number and ammunitions when compared to your army. No wonder for all their ruthlessness, LTTE is still admired.
And if your country persists in the disgusting discrimination it practices against some of your own countrymen, it will not be long before there are more LTTEs...assuming of course that the current LTTE will get wiped out, which itself is doubtful given your army's past unenviable record
Ecacofonix thanks for the comment. However you seem to be quite new to this issue, to comment that LTTE had no outside help. Tigers had plenty of help from Tamil Nadu state who trained them till they bit their hand by assassinating Rajiv Gandhi. Also you don't know about their Norway connections, do you? The actual war is about 2 decades old, since the LTTE killed off all their opponents.
Also this wasn't the only time SL army had them cornered only to give in to Indian pressure (look up IPKF on google). Because Sri Lanka is a democratic country Governments did change for those 2 decades, which is not the same with terrorists. You seem to assume all governments are pure and righteous, like US, UK and allies who have been models of peaceful negotiations.. You ought to be careful throwing stones from your glass house. SL forces are only after the Tamil Terrorists, not Tamil Civilians... Otherwise this last square KMs would have been wiped out a month ago!
You need to understand that Politics, Policy changes and international pressure does affects a democratic government, specially in that part of the world. For that if YOU and others ADMIRE terrorists, then it's you who need some soul searching!
Truth is generally the best vindication against slander. ( in letter to Secretary of War Edwin Stanton, July 18, 1864)
Since of late, many lies have been spread about Sri Lanka, by individuals and groups who want to see this beautiful island paradise, continue to suffer at the hands of LTTE. This is a forum for Canadians as well as others of Sri Lankan origin, to voice their opinions, find the truth about the situation & inform the world about the lies being spread by the LTTE supporters.
