LTTE in touch with U.N., says Sri Lanka

Colombo (PTI): Sri Lanka on Friday said there were reports that the leaders of proscribed LTTE, believed to be hiding in the 'No Fire Zone' in the country's embattled north, are in touch with the United Nations.

"There are news reports that Erik Solheim, the Norwegian International Development Minister, had told a group of Tamil demonstrators that LTTE leaders now in the No Fire Zone in Mullaittivu were maintaining close contact with the United Nations," the Presidential Secretariat said in a release on Friday.

  1. It is obvious that UN is going to tarnish it's name by safeguarding this monsters.Norway always does anything to destroy Sinhalese nation as they can't influence the west

  2. I think UN is a failed institution... They couldn't do anything when US steam rolled over them to do their own sanctions, bombing of Iraq and Afghanistan... Do you think if this was US instead of Sri Lanka that is getting rid of LTTE terrorists, that UN would even open their mouth. It's easy for them to fledge their muscle on a poorer country like Sri Lanka... it's simple as that!

  3. Unfortunately, the UN has become a place to provide employment for otherwise unemployable Westerners.

The Sri Lankan conflict is another great opportunity for them as it would provide them with further job security.
